Affordable Healthcare Initiative-3

Benefits:

Healthcare will be less expensive.

A true marketplace between patients and providers will be re-established, giving patients more choice of providers, and allowing providers to price services according to the cost of providing them, not as determined by a reimbursement schedule from an insurance company or government agency.

Providers can compete for business on basis of cost, convenience, and quality of services provided.

Patients can have less expensive (telephone) follow-up of visits, saving time of transportation and in waiting room, and costs of transportation.

People will be able to "self-insure" for outpatient services (or for emergency/inpatient services if hospitals participate in the plan), and have only a high deductable plan for catastrophic medical occurances.

Medical insurance can become insurance for unusual occurrances/high cost services, rather than a medical payment plan for all services provided.
